BC Land Surveyor (BCLS)
Our Parksville office is seeking an experienced BC Land Surveyor to lead our Parksville team (4-5 staff), manage projects, and oversee the day-to-day operations of our Parksville office. Candidates with experience managing land use and development projects in BC are preferred.
Key job activities:
- Managing survey projects from proposal to completion, including, but not limited to, subdivision and strata plans and topographic and construction surveys.
- Leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of JEA's Parksville office, with support from JEA's management team and Partners in our Nanaimo and Victoria offices.
- Developing plans and reports.
- Drafting, plan review, and quality control.
- Preparation of proposals, costs estimates, and project schedules.
- Providing clients with advise and consultation regarding survey and land development projects.
- Coordination and direction of field crews and technical staff.
- Working on multidisciplinary projects in coordination with JEA's Civil Engineering and Surveying departments in Nanaimo.
- Growing, developing, and maintaining client relationships.
- Following and upholding company safety policies.
Required skills and experience:
- Commissioned BC Land Surveyor in good standing with the ABCLS.
- Proficiency with MicroSurvey and strong technical and drafting skills.
- A strong understanding of surveying principles, practices, and standards, particularly in relation to land development in BC.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with project managers, colleagues, and clients.
- Strong time management, problem solving, and leadership skills.
- Experience working with governments, construction contractors, developers, property owners, and approving authorities.

Job details:
- Approximately 40 hours a week with flexible start/finish times within standard working hours.
- This position requires in person attendance.
- Wage range is $50-60/hour depending on experience.
- Relocation allowance available if applicable.
